About the Workshop

In the "Campus Readiness" participants will gain invaluable insights and learn about resources to support them as they prepare to make one of the most important decisions about their future.  Participants will take part in an interactive session, where we will discuss various options available such as paid travel, entrepreneurship, apprenticeship, working, volunteering, university, college, taking a gap year and more. We will also discuss the factors influencing their decisions, along with feelings about taking the next step.

This workshop is specially tailored for youth in their final years of high school and newcomers to Canada who are at a pivotal decision-making point about their future educational and career paths.

  • To discuss the social, emotional, financial, and educational considerations involved in each potential path.

  • To provide a supportive environment where students can share experiences and learn from each other’s journeys

Marcella Kowalchuk, Lead Instructor: Marcella Kowalchuk, a seasoned Certified Human Resources Leader, combines her extensive experience in strategic HR advisory with her passion for youth development. As an author and educator, she has dedicated over two decades to mentoring young adults and advocating for inclusive educational environments. Her commitment extends beyond the professional realm into volunteer work with various community service organizations and as a professor at Sheridan College’s Pilon School of Business.
